Never Judge

Chapter 295 - 295

After Alexi had left Cedric called Camilla and Ian to join him in the office to study the contents of the envelope. The two quickly instructed Mae and Dave to ensure that they would be undisturbed, they knew the importance of this file to their boss.

"Shouldn\'t we have opened this with Alexi?" Ian asked his boss as he pulled over a chair and placed his pen and notebook on the desk. He already knew that after this there would be work to be done.

"Knowing Alexi, he already read the contents and will be waiting for our call on what he can do to help." Cedric said with a grin. That was one thing that the Sebastian siblings all had in common, they could never resist a secret.

Cedric leaned forward and took out the contents of the file. He began going through the information on the man. It seemed he was from a poor family but he worked his way to set a better future for his wife and children. He had started as a runner for drugs and worked his way up the chain of command, it was with the money he made from illegal sources that he sent his only son to University to chase a better life.

"This guy knows how to hustle." Ian said as he finished the loan shark\'s file.

"According to this, on paper he is currently employed by MT Summit as a messenger, his job description involves taking documents to various offices and running permits and approvals to government offices." Camilla said as she read through the file.

"Is there anything on his son?" Cedric asked. He had a nagging feeling that this man was more closely connected to him than expected.

"Nothing in the files. It seems that it will need a little bit more digging." Ian said as he checked the papers on the table.

Cedric took out his phone and called Alexi.

"Yo bro." Alexi said as he picked up the call.

"Who is the son?" Cedric asked in a stern tone.

"What? How did you know I would know?" Alexi asked.

"You would never be able to resist opening a secret file that Ray gave on something you couldn\'t get information on." Cedric said as he rolled his eyes.

"Woah, I can feel you rolling your eyes at me." Alexi teased his friend. "It\'s a funny coincidence, the loan shark\'s son is Anton Cruz, the man that\'s been a pain in your ass for quite some time now."

"He\'s an annoyance." Cedric said as he pinched the space between his eyes. He had a feeling it would be Anton.

"Well, at least you won\'t be going into this blindly. You know what Anton wants." Alexi reminded his friend. "Hey do you have more questions? I have a hot date waiting for me. I can\'t miss this opportunity."

"Nurse Jen gave you a chance?" Cedric asked in surprise.

"Yeah, Katerina\'s advice worked. I just treated her differently." Alexi said with a laugh.

"Well, good luck." Cedric said as he smiled, he was glad Alexi was finally being serious about a girl. He knew that Ilya\'s death had broken Alexi\'s heart and his friend swore never to love again. "Hey Alexi, why didn\'t you tell me earlier about Anton?" Cedric asked.

"Cause if I waited for you I would be late for my date. Bye." With that Alexi dropped the call.

"Alexi just confirmed that Anton is the loan shark\'s son. Find out what project will best bait him to meet with me." Cedric instructed Ian.

"You as Cedric? Or you as the Reyes Heir?" Ian asked to clarify.

"As Cedric. Meeting the Reyes Heir will be overkill." Cedric explained.

Ian nodded and left with Camilla to do as Cedric asked.

When he was finally alone in his office, Cedric walked over to the large glass window in his office. R Tower was not the tallest building in the country, but it was strategically placed to overlook the most important places in the city. Cedric marveled at the sight and smiled.

They had been patient with the police when they were asked not to interfere, and if it weren\'t for unexpected issues that arose they would have gotten to the bottom of the incident at the Tech Hub sooner. He could feel that they were getting closer, he needed to know who was behind MT Summit and why they were attacking the Reyes Group, it was never as simple as wanting to be the best or the richest. People didn\'t take these measures for purely profit alone.

After a few minutes Ian knocked on Cedric\'s door.

"You found it?" Cedric asked.

"We can use one of the projects in the Tech Hub." Ian told him as he handed Cedric the tablet with the files.

Cedric looked through the project and nodded.

"Start work on the Tech Hub, don\'t contact Anton yet. Wait for him. He will come to us." Cedric ordered as he handed the tablet back.

When Ian announced that Mor Co. would be resuming the build at the Tech Hub the public was surprised. Not only were they resuming the build less than a year after the incident but it seemed the Reyes Clan was challenging fate as they chose a month known to be a time when people shouldn\'t be building great structures.

The news took some time before reaching the public, a week had already rolled by and it was only the employees of Mor Co. and the Reyes Group that knew the construction would begin again.

Cedric\'s car had just arrived at the driveway of Saints Hospital. Miguel told him to wait five minutes before entering.

He was surprised when the other passenger door suddenly opened.

"Hey." Alexi said as he climbed into Cedric\'s car.

"Don\'t you have your own car to wait in?" Cedric asked.

"Miguel said to come in when he gives the signal. I think he wants to be all dramatic with this." Alexi said with a shrug.

"And where is our lawyer?" Cedric asked.

"Black car over there." Alexi said pointing.

"Ah it seems Miguel sent the signal." Cedric said as he pointed at Katerina, Ram, and Ray all getting off their cars and heading over to the Saints Hospital entrance.
